The Sr. Bookkeeper will assist with day to day financial tasks, responsible for both accounts payable and receivable along with all payroll, bank account management and reconciliation tasks. Responsible for recording financial data into QuickBooks, and providing the CEC with income statements and balance sheets monthly, forecasting and projections, and providing accountants with year end closing statements.

Responsibilities:
• Posting journal entries, recording daily transactions into the general ledger, updating financial records in accounting software.
• Accounts payable management: Processing invoices, tracking customer payments, managing vendor accounts, ensuring timely payments.
• Bank reconciliations: Comparing bank statements to the general ledger to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
• Financial statement preparation: Assisting in the preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Monthly/quarterly closing procedures: Performing necessary tasks to finalize financial reports at the end of each period.
• Compliance reporting: Helping with the preparation of required regulatory reports
• Fixed asset management: Recording and maintaining information about company assets
• Auditing support: Assisting with internal and external audit processes 

Experience & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, and/or 5-10 years experience
• Experience in accounting preferred, but not required
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage)
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Analytical skills to identify discrepancies
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and vendors

Compensation: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
